Quite simply, it's how we feel farming should be done. We take great care of our animals because we know that the way your food is produced has a profound effect on its nutritional value. Healthy animals produce healthy meat.
We never feed our animals growth hormones or animal by-products, and we use antibiotics only when necessary to prevent a sick animal from suffering.
Our certified "High Health" pigs live their entire lives without being exposed to most common porcine diseases. Their "High Health" status is maintained through meticulous cleaning of their barns and regular veterinary check-ups. You'd be hard-pressed to find a healthier herd of pigs!
Our pigs are protected from the elements in housing that provides natural light and fresh air. Pigs do not sweat and can easily burn in the sun and heat. Conversely, if they are too cold, they lose body fat and are more susceptible to illness, disease, and even death. In order to keep our pigs comfortable year round, their housing is adjustable to account for all types of weather.
